Site Updates

29th June 2008
Due to the success of the site so far there will be some important changes happening over the next 6 months... these will include a new logo and site layout, a directory of resources (great for searching for new supplies and your favourite artist or tutor), competitions, advertising options for shops and suppliers and a few more useful surprises.

During this time I will be making these changes with as little disruption to the service as possible, but please note that I may very occassionally update site rules and forum structures to reflect the new site's needs... I will of course let you know when these changes happen and how they may have affected parts of the site you have come to know.

If you experience any problems, please contact me using the 'Report an Issue', or 'Feedback' button at the bottom of the page.

Equipment For Wet Felting

Here’s what I use Newspapers and a bin liner on the floor. A piece of old net curtain, preferably a voile A rolling pin Kettle hot water Washing up liquid Rubber gloves TIP: Everyone has their own way of working and will prefer slightly different equipment depending on how they were taught. The main thing is that you have plenty of time and effort to put into creating your felt… it’s not a quick fix craft!

Looks like a watercolor paiting and little candy rolls to me - my recent nuno felted scarf creations

This is another one of those "I just had to share" moments. I took a few collage photos of my most recent nuno felted scarves. I thought that they looked like a bright, abstract watercolor painting in one and little candy or sushi rolls in the other. This is my silly interpr… Continue

Oh All Right...

How could I not post some pics here, maybe just different ones and stories from my 'other' blog! Felting in really hot weather can be quite a workout as some of my students have recently found. Is it done yet? seems to be the resounding question whilst wet felting base mats for playscapes, " just a little bit more" is the smiley answer! I've recently started work on rather a large version of an earth elemental, specifically t show later in the year. I'm hoping she will be covered in her first l… Continue

Updating blog!

Well, summer is here and between trying to absorve as much soon as possible and work, I'm running around all day. Ive been working on some felted jewelry lately. A friend of mine gave me this book for my birthday called " quick and Clever felting" by Ellen Kharade. It's interesting because it just has small projects, very well explained step by step, but also it combines sewing, dying, needle felting, wet felting... kinda cool. i don't have pictures yet but I wanted to share this book, because i… Continue
