Now just where to start?

Been feeling like I've been less creative recently, especially after last week's mamoth postings about things I made a few months ago... not had the time to concerntrate on anything new, but I did buy this polyformed base, on a rare day out with my mum and my nan. We went up to a place called HobbyCraft with the full intention to just look around... yeah right! Needless to say many shopping baskets later I hatched a plan for

a Christmas wreath... got something in mind... let's see how it pans out.

What do you mean you blinked and missed me?! Zest November Issue

Well, ok then it wouldn't have been hard to do... but I really was in there I promise! The lovely folks in the art department at Zest Magazine (http://www.zest.co.uk/) sent me an email... they'd looked through my craft supply store at http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Saras-Texture-Crafts and come across my Welsh Mountain Wool... and after describing their first ideas, they asked 'Would it work?'.

It didn't seem to be a problem, so off the order went and an email came back telling me to buy myself a copy of the November issue... the wool would be used. Eagerly I awaited, even D was scouring the shelves for the issue.

It seemed to take for ever to come to print!

And here it is page 141... If you look closely you will see creamy white coloured wool roving used on the stones, moss and heather to help create a background for the clothing feature. 'Not quite famous yet' D said, but still I'm bowled over... my stock in a real life fashion mag!

If you want to try Welsh Mountain for yourselves check out my shop... Sara's Texture Crafts Supply Store - Welsh Fibres

Thank you Zest!

Profile Information

About Me:
A little bit about me…

I have been working as a Fashion Designer for some years now and have always been interested in textured embellishments, from small decorations to all over fabric techniques. My style of texture decoration comes from combining both conventional and unconventional disciplines. For example free-machine embroidery can be great on its own, but why not mix it with another discipline like; felting, embroidery or weaving? I try to approach all crafts with the same way – why not mix it up a bit?

At Sara’s Texture Crafts I hope to be able to bring you the crafts and techniques that have been inspiring me recently, from finished artworks to clothing accessories, jewellery, rag dolls and fun decorations.
